Atmospherex was founded in 1999 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn as a commercial venture and artist collective with a focus on music visuals. In 2003, after completing work on the ultimate music visual production: Sonic Vision, which was a planetarium show commissioned by the American Museum of Natural History, Atmospherex founder Philip Benn headed West to work as a visual fx artist on film productions. In 2011, Philip completed the Master of Fine Arts program at San Francisco Art Institute with an emphasis on Design Technology.
